All About Us
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE
Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for children of all cultures and abilities. We believe in encouraging good relationships between parents/carers and staff and will respect the child’s individuality as well as the parents/carers values. Working as a team we will endeavour to provide appropriate levels of care and education for all. Each child’s overall development will be monitored and recorded in an appropriate manner.
- We do get support from the school but are not linked to them. A place at Rainbow Pre-school does not guarantee a place at Brookland Infant or Nursery school although majority of children seem to go to Brookland or Mayfield Nursery Schools
- If you need to contact us we ask you to use the numbers for the pre-school which can be found in the contact section of this website
- Please do not park in school grounds
- We hold Parent Consultation evenings in the first and last term your child is with us
- We give out reports when your child leaves
- We are a charity run playgroup, so all money goes back into the pre-school and is used for everything from wages to maintenance & equipment.
- Being a charity means we are backed by a committee. The meetings are once a term and very occasionally we have extra ones if problems arise or specific events need organising & sorting out. They are normally fairly informal meetings and anyone is invited to come along and find out what’s going on, offer their support etc. Without the support of a committee, the pre-school would have to close.
- As well as fees, we do have fundraising in various forms. We have a mini Christmas Fayre or Summer Fayre; Easter and Christmas raffle; 2 sponsored events and a Fancy Dress Week per term
- We have group and individual photos taken in the summer and autumn term respectively.
- We are able to take part in the ‘Gift Aid’ scheme and will ask you if you would mind signing a form to allow us to claim against fees and fundraising events. This is at no cost to you.
- We collect Tesco vouchers and Sainsbury vouchers
- We also have a Christmas party, where we ask parents to provide food and a Teddy Bears picnic, where we ask for a financial contribution of £2 or a food. The money is all spent on the appropriate event.
- All money raised goes towards maintenance and new equipment. In the last 5 years we have:
