Sessions
- We currently have 5 morning sessions and 5 afternoon sessions. Times are 9.00-1200; 1200- 12.30 (lunchclub) & 12.30 - 3.30
- Each session has up to 24 children
- Initially we only allocate 2 or 3 sessions per child so we are able to accommodate as many children as possible. We then offer extra sessions to those who have requested them. If you decide want extra sessions at any time, please let the leader know. Priority is given to children who will be moving up to nursery first.
- SESSIONS ARE ALLOCATED ON A ‘FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS’.
- We operate a Key worker system. This means your child will be allocated a key worker: We also have small group time after registration. The colour of the groups are red, yellow and blue. The colour of your child’s self registration card will be the same as their small group
- We do fire drills in line with the school
Various things we do in a typical session
- Circle time - the children are invited to bring in a special something from home ie a holiday souvenir, a photograph, a bracelet etc. and put it in the 'Treasure Box'. The item is then taken out and talked about with all the children at circle time.
- Small Group Time – when the children go into their colour to do an organized activity.
- Music is played at tidy up time
- Snacks tend to be fresh fruit and vegetables. We operate a fruit/vegetable basket and ask the children to bring a piece of fruit every session. By doing this they receive a special sticker. If your child has an allergy or a special diet, we work with you to draw up a suitable snack list so they are not excluded.
- Stars are given out at the during each session to 4 or 5 children who have collected the books and cups at snack time, who join in with the singing, who help tidy up, who do the weather chart and who have done something special i.e. achieving something for the 1st time, being kind, etc
